Who do you say I am?
This is the question that Jesus asked Simon Peter (Matthew 16:15). Here is Peter’s answer:
Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
What would your answer be to this question? It is important that we have the right view of our God so that we can stand firm in our faith. To me, God is:
- Most High
- All knowing
- My Comforter
- My Savior
- My Righteousness
- My Healer
- My Redeemer
- The Prince of Peace
- The Great I AM
I’m sure that you can add to this list and it could go on and on. All that we are is for His glory. All that we do is for His glory. We need to be ever mindful that we cannot do anything in our own strength. We must always have His endless strength if we want to be successful. He is the Light that shines in this dark world. We are all called to be that Light. He works through me and you to show others His love and power. If we don’t do our part, the lost can’t see Jesus. If they can’t see Jesus, they will be lost forever. I don’t know about you but that thought saddens me deeply. It saddens God too. It grieves His heart. Each of us need to step up and shine the Light that is our Lord Jesus Christ.
For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.
2 Corinthians 4:6
God fills our hearts with light. The only thing we have to do is allow that light to shine. It is that simple.
Dear God, Today please let these words – Your Words – touch a heart. Let these words change a heart so that others can be changed. Let each of us know our duty to carry your light to the ends of the earth. Let each of us grow and become the disciples You call us to be. Keep each of us in the Light and the Love that is only found in Your Son Jesus Christ. In His Holy Name we pray. Amen.
Stay in the Light and the Love always,
