Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up. James 5:15
Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Hebrews 4:16
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Deuteronomy 6:5-7
We are promised a life of peace when we allow the Spirit to control our minds (Romans 8:6). When I start thinking negatively, I feel a prompting in my heart to stop and fix my thoughts on Jesus (Hebrews 3:1). Jesus loves me just as I am. Jesus loves each and every one of us.
Each of us have dark moments when knowing a few power verses to pray would be so vital. In the verse above, if you are loving God with all your strength, how do you have the strength required to stay in that dark place? Pray and ask God for wisdom and to show you how to use His Words (James 1:5). If we remember the love of Jesus instead of the wrong against us, how can we not have peace? Try it. The next time someone does something that makes you crazy, think of Jesus and His love for both you and that person. I guarantee it will bring a smile to your face. Who can remain angry when smiling?
Jesus is Love. Jesus is Life. Jesus is Light.
Love. Life. Light.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
P.S. Did you know that Amen means “So Be It” – every time you say Amen you are saying ‘so be it’ in my life. Try saying it out loud and often.
