Lord, Be the Guard over our every spoken word that comes out of our mouth!
May the praise of God be in their mouths and a double-edged sword in their hands.
The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom, but a perverse tongue will be cut out.
The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.
Thank You for today. We come before You humbled and seeking more. Please teach us Your wisdom – not the world’s wisdom. Give us discernment to know when to speak and when to remain still. Teach us to rely on the Holy Spirit You’ve so freely given to us as a Guide. Help us each understand that we need to invite Holy Spirit into our every moment of every day. We cannot just commune and seek His Presence when during our prayer times. We must include and seek Him during every moment You give us.
As we go about our day, please put Your hand over our mouth as a Guard to filter our words so they are only life-giving words. Please let that Guard over our mouths filter out all the harsh and ugly words before they come out. Let us be so in tune with the Guard that we pause before we speak because as we are allowing the filtering process. For this and so much more we thank You.
In Jesus’ name we pray.
