Praying for our children is important.
We need to put all of our concerns and worries out there for God. After all, doesn’t He know them all anyway? Even so, He still likes us to verbalize them to Him in prayer. There’s something special and private about prayer time. It is so touching to know that we have the God of the Universe listening to us. His divine and full attention is on us. There is nothing distracting Him from hearing us. No catastrophic cosmic mishap that He has to handle. Nothing. Jesus wants all of us to turn to Him with all of our problems, concerns, victories and triumphs. He wants to be our friend.
Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.
John 15: 13-15
What exactly is it that Jesus commands us to do in these verses? Look a little further in this chapter and we’ll find the answer:
This is my command: Love each other.
John 15:17
It’s that simple. Love.
This is a love prayer for all of our children:
Dear God,
We lift each of our children up to you today. Please protect their minds. Help them each realize that what they put in their minds is crucial to pleasing You and not men. Let them see You in their day. Protect their tongues. For such a small body part, it can do the most damage. Let them be aware of the damage their words can cause.
Please protect them from those who wish to do them harm. Keep away the evil spirits and break any negative, ungodly strongholds that may exist. Give them wisdom and discernment to know right from wrong. If they do wrong, please, God, as hard as it is to say, let them get caught. They will not learn unless they are made to own their mistakes.
Give them love for others. Your Word says that You will fill their hearts with Your love. Please fill their hearts. Lord, please give them the courage necessary to speak up for You and to share Your Word with those who are lost.
Thank you, God, for all the wonderful work you are doing through each of them. We know even the dark times they go through are going to be used for their good. You have plans to prosper each of them and we circle that promise in Your Word and write their names beside it. Father, keep each of our children n the light and the love that can only be found in Your Son Jesus Christ. Protect all of our families with the powerful Blood of Your Son.
In His Holy Name, I pray.
Amen.
Stay in the Light and the Love Always,
Eva
