Hi! Welcome to my blog. This is my very first post! I am very excited to jump in and get started (even though I do not have a clue what I’m doing!).
I have a desire and calling to share my story and am so delighted to announce that I am taking the plunge. I want to share my walk in faith with others who may be taking a similar walk. My journey started in 2008. I do not remember the date because there was not one event leading up to my finding grace. I experienced a pressure that something more was expected of me and that something was missing from my life. I immediately knew the pressure was from God; however, I could not pinpoint exactly what He was trying to tell me. On the outside looking in, someone would think I have it all.
- I have a wonderful husband who is my best friend and companion.
- I have 3 beautiful and healthy children.
- I have a nice house that we designed and built.
- I have a fantastic job where co-workers have become dear friends.
Do you see a trend here? I have… That’s how I judged my existence. When I started feeling this pressure, I experienced a shift in my thinking and things that once mattered greatly to me no longer mattered as much. We were definitely storing up our treasures on earth instead of in Heaven as Jesus directs each of us in Matthew 6:19-20.
I started reading a variety of devotionals and quick read books. I tried to read the Bible on more than one occasion but was very overwhelmed with where to start or how to read it so I never succeeded in reading more than one or two pages, shutting the Book and feeling like a failure.
Around this time, I found a wonderful gentleman on TV who does a Bible study and I was like a sponge. His name is Les Feldick and he has all of his Bible studies transcribed on his ministry’s website (www.lesfeldick.org). Mr. Feldick breaks the Bible down not only verse by verse but also word by word. It was amazing and eye-opening to finally know how to read and study the Bible and I haven’t stopped reading it since. If you are struggling like I did, I wholeheartedly recommend his website and materials. He is non-denominational and fascinating.
Please stay with me as I continue to share my journey. I hope to provide inspiration to each of you as you walk with me. I recently had a lightning flash – a person will never be perfect. We can’t be perfect while we’re on earth. It is simply not possible. However, with CONSTANT prayer, study and diligence, we can become the people we want to be. Thanks for reading my story.
Eva, I’m sitting here with tears in my eyes reading this. I am so proud of what God has done for you and how you are letting Him use you. Keep up the good work with God’s help, of course.
Phyllis, thank you very much. It’s been a wonderful journey and I am so anxious to share God’s blessings.
