Peter had amazing faith in the power that Jesus gave to him.
Meanwhile, Peter traveled from place to place, and he came down to visit the believers in the town of Lydda. There he met a man named Aeneas, who had been paralyzed and bedridden for eight years. Peter said to him, “Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you! Get up, and roll up your sleeping mat!” And he was healed instantly. Then the whole population of Lydda and Sharon saw Aeneas walking around, and they turned to the Lord.
We each have been given a very special gift.
We’ve been given the precious Holy Spirit to dwell within us so that we can walk in the full authoritative healing power of Jesus Christ. The same power that raised Jesus from the grave is within us!
It is imperative that we allow the Holy Spirit to become more of who we are. When we allow the Spirit to become more, we act boldly like Peter. Get raw and honest before God. Share with Him all of our deep hurts and ask Him to reveal all the hidden things in our hearts. As we open up to Him, He will begin the cleansing and purifying process in our hearts and our minds.
The battle is real and we’re all included whether we know it or not.
Satan desires for us to stay trapped within the pain we’ve allowed to accumulate within. When he succeeds, we are not the powerhouse that we should be. The battle is within each of us. In our hearts and in our minds. God desires for us to walk in freedom. We do that by allowing Him access to our hearts and by controlling our thoughts and not letting them control us.
We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ.
2 Corinthians 10:5
When we start reflecting outwardly instead of inwardly, He can use us. If we stop wallowing in regret, guilt, shame, bitterness, and offense we can become like Peter. Like Jesus. Personally, I want to take my thoughts captive to make them obedient to Christ. In doing so, I know that I, too, can have the faith that Peter had when he healed Aeneas. Meditate on that thought!
If we all get a little more intentional about our walk with Christ, we could become the powerful Body of Christ to this lost and hurting world.
Thank you for the living Guidebook you’ve given us in your Word. We never cease to be amazed when verses like above become alive as we read the words. We stand in awe of your goodness, your greatness and your totally undeserved gift of grace.
Please continue to work in our hearts and in our minds. Continue to bless us with your Words. Move our hearts to action. Use us in mighty ways to reach those You put in our path. Open our eyes to see those hurting and our ears to hear the unspoken pain. And fill our mouth with Your love and compassion as we act as Your ambassadors in this world.
In Jesus’ name, we pray.
Stay in the Light and the Love Always,
