Does your voice echo in Heaven?
Earlier this week in time with God, He spoke to me about echoes and how very important it is for our voices to not just echo but to echo the right words. There is power in the spoken word. Regardless if that word is negative or positive, it holds power.
An echo is the repeating of a sound that is spoken into the air around a person. So when we speak, the words come out of our mouth, go into the air around us and create sound.
When we pray, the words we pray go into the air in Heaven creating sound that echoes off of the walls in the Throne Room. Our words never go away! Our prayers are constant just as God’s Word is constant.
Words are part of our genetic make-up that enable us to imitate God.
God is our Creator and words are a big part of who He is. We know Him through His Word because throughout His Word He gives us glimpses of who He is. To walk fully in our calling, we must know who God is and that He loves us.
If our thoughts of God are twisted or confused, we will never fully know our own identity.
The God we serve is the only God. He is a good and loving God. He is a gracious and merciful God. He is a BIG and POWERFUL God. He is the great I AM because HE IS everything.
When we stand before Him praising Him for His greatness and sovereignty, our voice resonates from deep within and creates an echo in Heaven.
God created ALL BEINGS, including us and including Satan.
He has no archenemies because there are none equal to Him. He is past, present and future all at once. He is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit all at once. He is holy, pure and righteous.
Everything that is in existence is under His sovereignty. We cannot think in human terms when thinking of who He is. In our finite minds, we cannot bring God down to what we know and can accept. We must be open to accepting what we don’t understand.
God gives us a good picture of just how powerful and potent His words are.
He speaks and things manifest out of nothing. He created the world and everything in it by His Words alone.
All throughout the Bible, He speaks and things spring into place. Words create and perform. Since we are created in His image (by words), they are also a big part of who we are. Words bring life and they can also bring death.
No matter how skilled we are at trying to hide our true identity, we can’t help but let what’s in our heart come out of our mouth. People identify who we are by what we speak. And we cannot hide our hearts from God either as He sees only our hearts. God’s Word backs up this truth in these words from Jesus:
A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. What you say flows from what is in your heart.
The old saying “sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me” is a lie from the enemy. Words hurt worse than sticks and stones.
Being intentional about the words we put into the air around us will bring blessings.
However, if we are not intentional about what we speak, we will not grow in Christ and we will not see blessings.
Carelessly speaking things like “I hate Mondays,” “my life sucks,” “I’m sick and tired of…” work against us. We cannot reflect Jesus Christ when our vocabulary contains constant complaints and negativity.
In a world where heart disease is the leading cause of death (both physically and spiritually), why are we not more focused on our hearts?
God cares greatly about the condition of our hearts.
Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.
The condition of our heart determines the very course of our life! If these words are convicting you right now (as they are me), GOOD! Conviction is good and brings much needed transformation and growth.
Another truth we need in our hearts is GOD’S LOVE FOR US.
Even if we don’t love Him, HE LOVES US.
Even if we are in the darkest valley and think we are all alone, HE LOVES US.
Even if we have denounced Him and worship false gods, HE LOVES US.
His love for us is a constant, steady love that will never die. Without Him, we would not know what love is. Love is not just an emotion. It is action and it is a Person. Love is tangible because God is love (1 John 1:5).
Let’s take our knowledge of His love to another level and soak in it.
Soak in His love for us and not our love for Him. When we focus on our love for Him, we’re always going to come up short. We will always feel defeated and down because we are not loving Him enough, in our minds. But something amazing happens when we turn our focus and shift our thinking to His love for us. When we focus on His love for us, we see praise and worship in its purest form.
When we stand before Him praising Him for His great love for us, our voice resonates from deep within and creates an echo in Heaven.
Love died on a cross for you and for me.
Raise up your voice today and thank Him for His great love. Thank Him over and over again for His love that brings us salvation and eternal living in His very Presence. It is amazing grace. And grace helps transform our vocabulary removing the negative and replacing it with the positive!!
Speak your praise and thanksgiving out loud!
We can either bear good fruit that changes the condition of our hearts or we can bear bad fruit that gives us heart disease. It’s not enough to just love Jesus and know He is your Savior. We must speak it out loud. We must share Him with others. This is His way for our life. It is His way for our salvation.
The Gospel of Jesus Christ is this:
That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.
Friends, start speaking words of life today. Speak Jesus. Praise Him for who He is. Praise Him for His great love for us. Never stop praising Him for everything. Speak words of life and not death.
Let your voice echo eternally in Heaven!
Stay in the Light and Love always,
