This proposal pleased the whole group. They chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit; also Philip, Procorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas from Antioch, a convert to Judaism. They presented these men to the apostles, who prayed and laid their hands on them. So the word of God spread. The number of disciples in Jerusalem increased rapidly, and a large number of priests became obedient to the faith. Now, Stephen, a man full of God’s grace and power, did great wonders and miraculous signs among the people. Acts 6:5-8
Faith, Spirit, and power are all seen together in these verses. The Holy Spirit is God’s power. And we, through our faith, release that power by allowing the Holy Spirit to work through us. We need to allow FULL access to the Holy Spirit to all area of our lives. By doing this we allow Him access to use us as conduits to perform the miracles and great wonders that He so wants to perform through us. We need to stop allowing lack, anxiety, worry, fear, insecurity, jealousy, and unforgiveness into our lives. By allowing these things (that are not of God) into our lives, we hinder the work that the Spirit can do through us. This is a powerful tool for Satan. He wants us to get caught up in the weeds of all these fleshy things so that we are NOT using the power of the Spirit. Satan knows the great power that we each have residing inside of us! Let’s take that power back and pro-actively become the Body of Christ that we were intended to be and show Satan who is in charge!! You and I can do it. Focus on Jesus Christ – and not on yourself or your circumstances. This and this alone will enable us to take the power back. Let’s go!
