Beauty instead of ashes. Isn’t this a lovely promise?
The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favor and the day of the vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion – to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor.
Isaiah 61:1-3
How mighty is God’s Word!! These words speak to my heart. They bring me healing in times of mourning. I have been anointed to preach the good news. You have been anointed to preach the good news! Here are Jesus’s final words to the disciples before He went to sit at the right hand of His Father in heaven. These words are for us today.
He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.”
Mark 16:15
These words sank into my very being a few years ago. As I continue to preach the good news to all who will listen, God is opening up new doors and leading me into a deeper relationship with Him. And let me tell you, it’s WONDERFUL. He doesn’t require understanding – just obedience.
We don’t have to wait until we’re perfect to go to Him. He wants us just as we are and He’ll put all the broken pieces back together again! And better than you and I could ever imagine in our finite minds and our own strength. Give it over to Him. Allow Him to have full control of the reins in your life. He will turn ashes to beauty. Let His Words sink into your very being. Claim these Words and speak them into your life. His Word is alive and breathing. It is life-changing. He binds up the brokenhearted and heals the sick. He is all we need.
Dear God, Thank You for all the wonderful promises that we can claim as our own. Thank You for Your love for us. Thank You for teaching us about Love. Thank You for giving us Love when You sent us Your Son Jesus Christ. Use these words to touch a heart. Use these words to inspire others to step out and share the wonderful message of salvation to the lost. Keep us all in the Light and the Love that is only found in Your Son Jesus Christ. In His holy name we pray. Amen!
Stay in the Light and the Love always,
Eva
