God desires for His Body to work together in unity.
It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all teach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.
Thank You for Jesus. Jesus who gave us such special gifts. Reveal to each of us the gifts that Jesus gave us to build up and form His Body. Father, we ask for a deeper discernment of those gifts that we already possess. Teach us how to use them to edify the church.
Your Word tells us that as we speak truth in love, we will grow in all things into Christ who is the Head.
Create in us clean hearts. Remove all impurities of the world that hinder our ability to love others. Renew a steadfast spirit within us so that we are able to stand under Your refiner’s fire as You perform our deep heart cleansing.
Thank You for Your ways being so much higher than our ways. We thank You and praise You for being our Lord Almighty, our El Shaddai.
It is in the mighty name of Jesus that we pray.
Today’s Transformation Tip
Now the whole world had one language and a common speech. 2 As people moved eastward, they found a plain in Shinar and settled there.
3 They said to each other, “Come, let’s make bricks and bake them thoroughly.” They used brick instead of stone, and tar for mortar. 4 Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves; otherwise we will be scattered over the face of the whole earth.”
5 But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower the people were building. 6 The Lord said, “If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them. 7 Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other.”
God knows the power of unity.
In the Scripture above, we see that the people were working in unison, albeit for their own glory and not for the glory of God. God gives us a great key in verse 6 when He said that nothing would be impossible for these people when they worked in unison.
These are God’s own words!
Nothing would be impossible for them when they worked in unison.
Think about this in relation to today. When those in the Body of Christ work together in unison, nothing would be impossible!
- If we did not have denominations in the Body, what could we do?
- If we did not have walls and division in the Body, what could we do?
- If we didn’t come against one another over petty matters, what could we do?
God knows the power we have in unity in the Body. Why don’t we?
And we have what these people building the tower did not have. We have the Holy Spirit within us giving us the very power of God! It’s up to us to knock down the barriers we’ve erected.
Let’s focus on unity, love and togetherness.
When divisive, unloving thoughts pop in our minds, we need to quickly replace them with thoughts of unity, love and togethernesss in the Body of Christ. As Paul tells us in the verses from Ephesians above, as we grow in unity with others in the Body, we will also grow and mature in Christ. Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming.
Let’s get united today.
Stay in the Light and Love always,
