What is prayer all about anyway?
In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.
I kneel before You, Father, from whom Your whole family in heaven and on earth derive its name. I pray that out of Your glorious riches You may strengthen us with power through Your Spirit in our inner being, so that Christ may dwell in our hearts through faith.
And I pray that we, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge – that we may be filled to the measure of all fullness of You.
Now to You who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to Your power that is at work within us, to You be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations for ever and ever!
Amen♥ (Prayer from Ephesians 3:14-21)
Today’s Transformation Tip
4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Did you catch Paul’s words in verse 6 above?
In every situation, pray with thanksgiving.
Prayer is the opening to heaven. We are not residents of this world. We belong to heaven and are here on earth to share the message of Jesus Christ. This world is not what life is all about.
This world is merely a stepping stone to a greater, more wonderful eternity in heaven. Click To Tweet
How many times have you heard “well, prayer is the only thing we can do?” Prayer is not the only thing we can do, it is the only thing we SHOULD do.
We grieve God’s heart with our very small prayers.
For whatever reason, we don’t give Him all the burdens and worries and cares that are sitting heavy on our hearts. It’s as if we say we don’t want to burden God with all of it so we pick and choose what He can handle.
Guess what? God can handle it all. He is a big, big God and He created everything, including me and you. He wants us to take ALL of our small concerns to Him in prayer as well as ALL of our big concerns. In first Corinthians we are told that we are co-laborers with God. He desires to partner with us to transform our lives and the lives of those around us. We partner with Him in communication and relationship which is done through prayer.
Prayer is vital to our walk and growth in Christ.
It is vital to our transformation to become like Christ. It is vital to life itself.
Start talking to God today. Talk to Him as you would a dear, trusted friend. Your life will never be the same!
Stay in the Light and Love always,
